We, The Alliance for Arts Learning Leadership:
Develop and Improve Programs and Practice
• Work systemically with districts and schools on an individual basis - meeting them where they are while developing multiple strategies to increase arts learning and help move towards their overall vision and goals.
• Cultivate coordinated professional learning networks of arts learning leadership, from district administrators to principals, teachers to teaching artists who are committed to providing high quality arts learning for every child.
Provide Access to Research and Resources
• Provide tools and frameworks in arts integration, curriculum development, planning and assessment, that are developed through educational research, for schools, districts and arts organizations who seek support in improving and building upon their arts learning practice
• Facilitate strong community arts partnerships with schools and districts, so that we are building upon and leveraging the local assets of each community.
• Disseminate various arts learning resources, events and career opportunities as a county wide clearinghouse of arts education information.
Our Teaching and Learning work helps us answer questions like:
• How can we create professional teaching and learning networks that recognize the centrality of arts in human learning and communication?
• How can we optimally utilize arts learning to assure a complete and meaningful education for every child in every school?
• How can we best succeed in our objective to reinvigorate and renew teachers’ joy in teaching?
